  • Creative China Festival Presents Art of SONG Dong, YU Fan, LI Jun, GUO Hongwei and HE Wei in New York in Collaboration with ACAW

    (October 4, 2017, Beijing | New York) As part of the newly announced Creative China Festival, Beijing Contemporary Art Foundation (BCAF) is pleased to present a strong line-up of contemporary Chinese art programs, featuring SONG Dong, YU Fan, LI Jun and GUO Hongwei in New York in collaboration with Asia Contemporary Art Week (ACAW) as part of their signature “THINKING PROJECTS” series of pop-up exhibitions. The Festival also supports HE Wei’s installation as part of the ACAW after-party (by invitation only).
    • M+ Celebrates 100 Years of Architect I.M. Pei with Two-part Symposium in Hong Kong and the US

      (3 October 2017, Hong Kong) M+, the new museum of visual culture in Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District, is pleased to announce Rethinking Pei: A Centenary Symposium. Co-organised by M+ with, respectively, the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University, and the Department of Architecture at the University of Hong Kong, this two-part symposium celebrates the 100th birthday year of I.M. Pei by bringing together leading scholars who will lend new insights into the acclaimed architect’s life and work. The symposium will take place on 12–13 October in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA (at Harvard University), and on 14–15 December in Hong Kong (at the University of Hong Kong). The symposium is made possible by the generous support of C Foundation.
      • First showcase of ink art from the M+ Collection to debut in October

        (29 September 2017, Hong Kong) M+, the highly anticipated museum of visual culture at Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District, will exhibit selections from its exceptional ink art collection for the first time ever this fall. The Weight of Lightness: Ink Art at M+ (The Weight of Lightness) will explore the pivotal role of ink art in global visual culture, offering fresh perspectives using cross-disciplinary and geographically diverse approaches. The exhibition will run from 13 October 2017 – 14 January 2018 at the M+ Pavilion.
        • PHOTO MACAU ART FAIR ANNOUNCES FIRST EDITION PRESENTING GLOBAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND DIGITAL ART ON WORLD STAGE

          SEPTEMBER 29, 2017 – HONG KONG & MACAU │PHOTO MACAU | Art Fair aims to bring world-class digital art, specializing in photography, moving image and print to one of Asia’s fastest growing economies along the Pearl River Delta. Through a four-day programme, over 60 international art and photo galleries will showcase the best of photography and moving image from around the globe to the diverse Asian audience, as well as create an art event of reference for photographers, curators, collectors and dealers. Held at the Exhibition Hall of the Venetian, the first edition will be held in Macau, from 25-28 March, 2018.

            • WKCDA Rolls Out Creation for Freespace Series to Explore Scenography, Stage Technology and Foundations of Performance

              (7 September 2017, Hong Kong) The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA) launches a comprehensive three-year programme to help nurture talent and build audience appreciation for the theatrical arts in Hong Kong. Creation for Freespace: On Scenography – part of the Creation for Freespace performing arts platform devoted to the West Kowloon Cultural District’s highly anticipated Freespace venue, set to open in 2019 – explores the art of scenography in theatre-making. This year’s theme, What is Stage: Dynamics of Seeing, is curated by renowned Hong Kong theatre director Edward Lam and focuses on the acclaimed Dutch scenographer Jan Versweyveld with a series of events that are open to theatre professionals, cross-disciplinary creators and art enthusiasts.
              • Beijing Contemporary Art Foundation Announces First Edition of Creative China Festival

                (August 25, 2017, Beijing | New York) The Beijing Contemporary Art Foundation (BCAF) is proud to announce the very first Creative China Festival (CCF) that will launch this autumn with a specially curated program of events in New York, Boston, and Los Angeles. Across three cities, six sections of exploring art and culture through talking forums, film series, design exhibitions, an art residency and public art exhibitions, live music performances, a guest city program, more than 10 collaborating institutions, over 100 participants and 50 events, CCF explores the cultural innovation and establishes a crossroad meeting point between China and the United States, the East and West, the classical and novel, as well as the institutional and grass roots.
                • Tri-City Co-lab takes place in the world’s leading festival city

                  (23 August 2017, Hong Kong) – The West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA) today announced the launch of its latest initiative supporting the long-term development of the performing arts in Hong Kong: International Co-Lab, an innovative tri-city residency programme for mid-career performing artists. The ambitious three-year project will launch in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, on 20 August 2017 – in the heart of the city’s famed festival season – before travelling to Auckland, New Zealand, in 2018 for the Auckland Arts Festival before finally landing in Hong Kong in 2019, when the residency outcomes will be presented as part of the opening programme for Freespace at West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD). International Co-Lab is developed by Forest Fringe (the UK), The Basement Theatre (Auckland, New Zealand) and WKCDA (Hong Kong). The residency is supported by British Council, Creative Scotland, Creative New Zealand and the WKCDA.

                    由台北當代藝術館與驕陽基金會聯合主辦的《光·合作用—亞洲當代藝術同志議題展》(《光·合作用》)將於2017年9月9日至11月5日在台北當代藝術館展出。此次展覽將是亞洲地區有史以來第一個在官方美術館舉辦關於LGBTQ議題的主題展覽,展覽期間亦將於台北當代藝術館舉辦一系列導覽團、講座及公眾活動,邀請觀眾參與其中,開誠對話,激發公眾對人類平等的思考。
                  • 第二屆IDFFHK香港國際設計傢品展載譽歸來 呈獻頂尖講座對話系列與高級精品設計

                    第二屆香港國際設計傢品展(IDFF2017)載譽歸來,將於2017年8月25日至27日在香港會議展覽中心盛大舉行。作為高級精品設計展會,香港國際設計傢品展薈萃頂尖傢品設計品牌,亦將呈獻一系列頂尖講座,雲集知名國際與本地設計師和建築師。今年香港國際設計傢品展以「Redefining Luxury」為主題,首次聯手國際頂尖設計展會科隆國際傢具展(IMM Cologne),進一步鞏固其亞洲首屈一指設計展會的地位。本屆展會包括三個展區:標誌性「名家講座」(Dialogue Speakers Series)、盛大的「品牌精品」(Gallery Showcases)以及獨特的策展項目「設計策展」(Design Exhibitions)。

                    (印尼雅加達 - 2017年7月21日)–– 印尼首家現當代藝術博物館,努桑塔拉現當代藝術博物館(Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara,簡稱Museum MACAN)將於2017年11月4日隆重開放。博物館的開幕展覽將呈獻多個本館庫的藏品,包括印尼本地及國際知名藝術家的藝術作品,代表了努桑塔拉現當代藝術博物館的藝術使命 – 展現國際知名藝術作品,並持續支持當地印尼藝術家。
                  • STPI 參加2017年橫濱三年展

                    Yokohama Triennale 2017 includes works from STPI’s collaboration with internationally acclaimed artists Carsten Höller, Tobias Rehberger, Anri Sala & Rirkrit Tiravanija.These works were selected by Yokohama Triennale Co-director Akiko Miki and are comprised of four innovative composite works created using the surrealist game of Cadavre Exquis (Exquisite Corpse), as well as sixteen individual works. They will be exhibited in the Yokohama Museum of Art alongside Surrealist artworks from the museum’s permanent collection, in a special segment curated by Miki.

                      2017年9月27日至12月17日,李華弌個人作品展《紙 ‧ 醉 ‧ 金 ‧ 迷》將在蘇州博物館重舉行。本次展覽由蘇州博物館主辦,香港江蘇社團總會協辦,香港季豐軒提供支援,北京畫院副院長吳洪亮先生策劃。
                    • 西九文化區管理局宣布與英國Studio Wayne McGregor簽訂舞蹈交流及合作協議

                      (香港2017年7月14日)西九文化區管理局(管理局)宣布,與英國 Studio Wayne McGregor簽訂舞蹈交流及合作協議。 該項由2017 年至 2020年的合作協議,旨在推動藝術對話與探索,支持藝術研究和發展,促進舞蹈學習與參與,以及探討聯合製作或共同委約表演作品的可行性。為期三年的協作以建立長期交流及合作關係為目標,增進彼此了解,互相觀摩學習,共同在藝術發展方面力臻完美,並期待能夠與Studio Wayne McGregor持續合作,在即將落成的西九文化區演藝綜合劇場內的舞蹈中心綻放藝術魅力。
                    • 西九文化區於英國曼徹斯特國際藝術節2017 呈獻楊嘉輝全新製作

                      (2017年7月3日,香港) 西九文化區管理局(管理局)宣布,楊嘉輝新作 – 「One of Two Stories, or Both(Field Bagatelles)」已在上周五於英國曼徹斯特國際藝術節(MIF)舉行世界首演。該 項作品由西九文化區、MIF、曼徹斯特華人當代藝術中心、Edouard Malingue Gallery,以及 University of Salford Art Collection 共同委約,並於即日起至7 月4 日在藝術節發表。
                    • M+陳伯康先生於米蘭首屆The Design Prize 獲頒最佳設計策展人獎

                      (2017年6月30日,香港)M+博物館設計及建築首席策展人陳伯康先生於首屆「The Design Prize」中榮獲「設計策展人及設計評論類別」(Design Curator and Design Critic category)獎項。 一年一度的The Design Prize由傳媒機構「設計邦」(designboom)及 「住Abitare」(Abitare)策劃,並由「City of Milan 」贊助,旨在嘉許全球設計界的卓越人才。在國際評審團嚴格審核下, 本年度共頒發10個類別獎項,獲獎者由750位候選人中脫穎而出。
                    • 創新精神:何設計(hpa)以高科技擴展其建築及設計業務
