SUUM | Samsung Art+ Prize

Sutton PR worked with SUUM, a global curatorial agency on The Samsung Art+ Prize. The Samsung Art+ Prize is the UK’s first ever prize for new media art and is presented by Samsung UK and SUUM. Aiming to highlight artists who reveal the ways technologies can impact upon our lives, the shortlist of 10 emerging and established contemporary artists was selected by a panel of curators from leading arts organizations, ahead of a two-week exhibition at the BFI Southbank which opened in January 2012.

The winners of this year's prize were Semiconductor who were awarded a £10,000 prize on 25 January 2012. A further £5,000 second prize was awarded to Lucky PDF alongside an audience award (awarded to Doug Fishbone) and a lifetime achievement award (awarded to David Hall).

SUUM Projects is a global curatorial agency which promotes cultural exchange between Korea and Europe.  Founded by art historian and independent curator Jiyoon Lee in 2001, SUUM has produced, funded and implemented numerous international contemporary exhibition projects across the corporate and public sectors.

Sutton PR worked with SUUM to develop media strategy for the prize. We handled media relations for the prize around the exhibition, opening event and award ceremony.
