Pinacoteca Agnelli
The Pinacoteca Giovanni e Marella Agnelli opened in September 2002 in a space designed by Renzo Piano inside the historic Fiat industrial complex in the Lingotto district of Turin, which lends the industrial site its name. The Pinacoteca permanently houses 25 masterpieces from the private collection of Giovanni and Marella Agnelli, marking the final step in the twenty-year-long redevelopment of the site. The collection contains artworks from between the 18th and 20th centuries, ranging from the Venice of Canaletto and the Dresden of Bellotto to a group—unique in Italy—of seven masterpieces by Matisse. Since 2006, when Ginevra Elkann joined the as executive Vice-President, the Pinacoteca has curated a programme of temporary exhibitions and events dedicated to the theme of collecting, in order to supply new cues of knowledge, analysis and study to a broad public.
